I’m missing you grandma, very much. All your advice you gave me was important and I wish I can hear from you again grandma. Please grandma while I’m sleeping appear in my dream and lets sit down and have some tea and talk. I miss those days when you would sit us down and talk to us about how we are the only family we got; we have to love one another and be there for one another. I love grandma ...where gonna keep smiling for you and continue cooking everyday like you did, we miss you, we love you, and we will never ever let you down.

To the family of Shirley , this is such a sad time , I cannot even Imagine, how you must feel. But I have experienced what It means to lost someone In death. I know the pain can really be hard. However
do you know where I found help to deal with my grief? The holy writings at 2 Cor. 1:3,4. "Praise be the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God." This has indeed encouraged me, and I am sure It will offer comfort to you as well. There Is much more encouragement found on this website jw.org. For example What happens to Shirley who has died? You will be so encouraged with the answer, you can email at the email attached.

My deepest sympathy to the bereaved of SHIRLEY BROWN. One can well imagine the grief of those who dearly loved her.At this time of your loss you all need some kind of comfort, please allow me to share some words of comfort from the God of all comfort at 2 CORINTHIANS 1:3-4. Death was never meant to be, but was passed down from our first parents because it was their penalty for sin and disobedience ROMANS 6-23. However all is not lost SHIRLEY is just asleep in death but the God of all comfort assures us that there is going to be a resurrection at ACTS 24:15 and this is a guarantee therefore all those in God's memory would live again. Isn't that comforting? there is hope for the future and REVELATION 21:3-5 points to that future time also at PSALM 37-29 shows living would be forever. The official website of Jehovah's Witnesses is a bible based resource that many have found helpful available is a tract CAN THE DEAD REALLY LIVE AGAIN? Please feel free to visit at www,jw.org/ publications

To my heart and my warmth , my Grandma,
You are the love of my life, my best friend and my hero and I miss you dearly. Since the beginning of my life it’s always been you. You have loved me like no other, and I thank God for you always. For without you I would not be alive today, for your prayers, hardwork and sacrifice I would not be here. I’m taking this moment to say THANK YOU. Thank you my love for your love , your wisdom, you warmth, you cooking, your knowledge, and for always putting me first. Thank you for our moments together, like, when I was younger and everyday after school I will be listening to the radio while doing my homework and you will be cooking we will just talk about everything. Our numerous trips to the Empire State Building and the Zoo, and me imitating you. When you sow I used to take the scrape cloth make clothes for my doll, and when you comb my hair I will comb my doll hair the exact same way. You taught me to everything , to braid hair, To prayer, to read the Bible, my first psalms (Psalm 23, psalm 121) and many more. You introduced me to the world on our trips around NYC. From the Statue of Liberty, to the World Trade Center, Empire State Building, the little islands around the Manhattan, to plays on and off Broadway, Museums, everywhere. And all my big dreams and ideas stem from you, for you showed and taught me anything is possible through prayer.
My love from this day forward I will take you, wherever I go and acknowledge you in all that I do.
I Love You

I am so sorry for your loss. Shirley Brown's life was filled with hard work ,love ,laughter, good food, friends and family. So much great memories, I am sure she had many stories ,experiences to share and advice we could benefit from .
Our older ones are such a wealth of knowledge and sadly death forces us to part with them.
We will hold on to our cherished memories as we remember her. Wouldn't it be awesome to see her again to hug to touch to speak to her again .
The bible says we can see our death loved ones again. At Acts 24: 15 " there is going to be a resurrection "
Jehovah God wants to reunite us with our loved ones because he loves us .
To find out how and when this resurrection will happen ; please visit our website www.jw.org

Two Large White Floral Arrangements are placed at each side of Mammy honoring her Role as Both Mother and Father:
After her legal separation and dissolution of marriage; Mammy dug deep, band her belly, swallow her pride, and did what she had too, to provide for her children.
She cooked and sold food, she sewed, she picked coffee, planted garden, raised and sold chicken and eggs.
She found a way to provide for her four young children.
She was a True Mother and Matriarch.

Lenore, was a master of everything specializing in cooking. She could “tun a bad Coo Coo!” We had a lot of great times together and I’m most grateful for our amazing children. My fondest memories was going to the movies, which was a big deal back then, to watch “The Way the Earth Stood Still” and “The Ten Commandments.” We also went on many excursions. Hard work was another platform for our good times; we did many things together, like planting rice, corn and other things.
I will always be grateful to you for taking care of Gussie Brown.
Lenore, your good work will always follow you.
We love you but Jesus loves you best. Take your rest.
Until we meet again.

REFLECTION: From Young Sharon
Mammy understood the psychosocial impact criticism could have on young minds.
She ensured we were prettied up everyday. She made ALL our Clothes and School Uniforms. She was one of The Best Seamstress in the Village and was know as the Dress Maker. I remember being picked on and being called Emry because they referred to me as being hard, muscular, no hip and no shape. They said I looked liked the Tree Cutter/Logger who lived up the street. He was all muscles.
I wanted to look shapely like my sisters, aunts, and cousins. I did not understand why Mammy would not make my clothes close fitting or shapely. "Coco Cola Shape," was the epitome of beauty during that time in our Grandmother's house.
I guess Mammy saw my hurt and and decided to break it down to me one day. She said; "Child; mothers know best. I make my children clothes to compliment their figure. You may not have hip and breast, but you have SHOULDER. You have the type of shoulder and arms a lot of people would die for." "You're are my off the shoulder child." She made me off-the-shoulder outfits, frilly dresses, and baggy-jumpers.
I have attached some pics of Young Sharon wearing some of these clothes Mammy made just for me.

When you are young, you really don't know what you think you know. My Mom was a "Top Notch" Seamstress. She tried to teach us her children to sew. I never learnt. I loved sports, I loved to cook, and I loved gardening and the outdoors.
REFLECTING on this Outfit Mammy Made: I remember when I arrived at the function; seems like all heads turned. I was declared 'BEST DRESS," that evening. I was about 17.

Grandma,
Thank you for instilling everything of you and of God within me. It is because of you I have found the greatest and most highest love in our Lord Savior God. You taught me how to pray...you taught me how to be courageous in faith...you taught me how to be a virtuous woman. For that I thank you. Your spiritual presence will forever be felt in the hearts of your loved ones. I truly believe that was your purpose in life in leading us to always believe and turn to God. Aside from that, you left us with many great laughs, tough, but necessary lessons learned, stuffed bellies from five course meals, and a greater understanding of the entire Book of Psalms; so that we always lean on it any point in life: good or bad. May her legacy live on! We love you and thank you for being our new guardian angel.

To the family of Shirley,
I am writing to express my condolences to you at this time and to share some comforting thoughts from the Bible. At a time like this we need comfort, and our Creator Jehovah provides us with that through the good news he has given us in the scriptures (2 Corinthians 1:3,4). When someone dies, can they live again? We can find the answer at Acts 24:15 " ....there is going to be a resurrection..." This means that you have a real hope of being reunited with your Shirley again in the near future. You will be able to see her and talk to her again, right here on earth. God has resurrected humans in the past and is eager to do it again (John 11:30-44). Jehovah hates death and will remove it forever (1 Corinthians 15:26). So this is some of the comfort that Jehovah gives us. You have a hope for the future that you will see Shirley again!. If you want to find out more, you can go to jw.org.
Sincerely,
S. Rampersad

Untitled to Ms Lenore Brown (my mother in law)
A virtuous woman, spiritually filled,
Dedicated to her children and family,
Ordered to this purpose by God’s will.
A seamstress, a cook, a home keeper,
A mom,
She would toil through life,
Lending her wisdom to all.
Her legacy would be envisioned in her
Children and their’s,
Yet her influence would span to cousins,
Nephews, nieces, neighbors and all she would
Know, as Mami, Tanti Lenore, Ms Lenore
And friend
Her infectious smile and amazing culinary skills will be missed, but her influence and wisdom,
Will live on and bring bliss.
She has been elevated to continue her call,
From Earth Angel to Guardian Angel,
So that she can be with us all.

Dear Grandma, you spun gold out of my hard struggling life, conjured beauty from the things left behind. Put patience before anger. Found healing where it did not live. Broken many different curses with your own two hands. You passed these instructions down to your 4 children who then passed it down to their children and grandchildren.
To my mother (Sharon BrownDraper-Pierre)

To the Family: I express sincere condolences to your Family. May God comfort each of your hearts and bring to memory each and every experience shared with Mama Brown. Mama Brown seemed like a sweet and courageous protector of her children. Rest in God's presence Mama Brown.
Sis Sharon: Thank you for sharing your Mama's beautiful story and legacy. Now, I understand where you get your wonderful cooking abilities. In my prayers!

Please accept my sympathy. Many bereaved ones have found that talking can be a helpful release. Notice, for example, the words of the Bible character Job, who suffered the loss of all ten of his children and endured other tragedies. He said: “My soul certainly feels a loathing toward my life. I will give vent to my concern about myself. I will speak in the bitterness of my soul!” (Job 1:2, 18, 19; 10:1) Notice that Job needed to “give vent” to his concerns. How would he do so? “I will speak,” he explained. You too may find that putting your feelings into words and sharing them with a sympathetic listener will make it easier to deal with them. www.jw.org

I had the pleasure of meeting Mammy and three words I would use to describe her are loving, caring, and gentle. Being in her presence I always felt a sense of calmness...she always made me feel part of the family.
Sharon, Charmaine, and family...know that during this difficult time you are in my prayers. May our Lord continues to keep you strengthened as you move forward.

Dear Sharon, Thomas, Josiah, Leah & all loved ones,
Our heartfelt condolences go out to you at this time on the loss of Ms. Shirley. Sharon, as we read the Obituary, we see so much of your mother in you, and that is the mark of a true legacy. May the principles that she lived out continue to be reflected through the lives of all whom she impacted. We pray that the Lord will comfort you all as you mourn. There is truly no love like a mother's love. God bless you now and in the days ahead.
Love,
Carlos & Faith Hart and Family

My name is Amelia I read about the death of miss Shirley Brown in the obituaries and I wanted to extend my condolences because I too have lost loved ones in death and I know how difficult it could be for the family at this time. I will like to share what has helped me to cope. It is understanding the hope for the dead that has brought me great comfort because we want to live and we want to enjoy life with the ones we love. It is only natural that we want to see our dead loved ones again.Do you think this is possible? The Bible shows that most persons that have died will be resurrected. Jesus promised at John:5.28 "Do not be amazed at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs WILL hear his voice and come out, to a resurrection of life , those resurrected humans will have the opportunity to live in paradise on earth in perfect health, isn't that something wonderful to look forward to? I would like to direct you to a very comforting website where you can find further information about on the subject jw.org.

My sincere condolences to the family during this time of bereavement. Due to unforeseen circumstances, many weren’t able to travel to say their final farewells. I pray that God will comfort each and every family member and give them peace that surpasses all understanding.
