To the friends and family of the late "Aunty V", I do wish to extend my condolences. Losing a love one in death is always painful and difficult to cope with. It often raises many questions like, does death end it all? Are the dead forgotten forever? Is there any hope for the dead?
Well thankfully the Bible has given us comforting answers to those questions. John 5:28,29 shows that the dead are not forgotten. It says "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29. and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment". So God remembers the dead, those in his memory will come back to life.
Acts 24:15 shows that there will be a resurrection on earth. It says, " And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous". Billions will be brought back to life with the hope of living forever in an abundance of peace.
These and many other promises are found in the Bible. They help to gave us comfort and hope for the future.

My sympathy with you Roddy on the passing of your Mom Vena. Losing someone in death especially some that's close and dear to you, your Mother, is very painful and words may not seem to console you at this time. Jehovah, the God of comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3,4) and his Son Jesus Christ, knows and understands your grief and pain. When Jesus' dear friend Lazarus died, the scripture says "..he (Jesus) groaned within himself and became troubled. Jesus gave way to tears." John 11:33-35
God also gives hope and comfort that the time will soon come where you can see your beloved Mother again. Isaiah 26:19 "Your dead will live. My corpses will rise up. Awake and shout joyfully, You residents in the dust! For your dew is as the dew of the morning, And the earth will let those powerless in death come to life." May these words bring you comfort and hope Roddy.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. You can also visit our website JW.ORG and read more of this comforting message of hope.
