Please accept my sympathy on the passing of your husband 'Kenneth'. Death is something that no matter who we are or where we're from, we cannot escape it. Man has been trying throughout the ages to reverse old age and death but they have been unable to. (Ecclesiastes 9:5 "For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing at all, nor do they have any more reward, because all memory of them is forgotten.") Can death be conquered and when? Is there any hope for the dead? God gives us the answers to these questions in his word the Bible. We're all faced with sickness, old age, and death because of the disobedience of our first parents Adam and Eve, but God's purpose for mankind has not changed. He tells us at Isaiah 25:8 “He will swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces.” Acts 24:15 “There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” God promises to get rid of death and all those who have lost loved ones in death can look forward to seeing their dead loved ones again. May these words bring you comfort.
