At 1 Corinthians 15: 26, we read, And the last enemy death is to be brought to nothing. We will be relieved from death in a little while. In 1979 I met Sagram at Piarco International Airport. He had been seeing somebody off, I had come in from Jamaica on a stop-over to South America. He spontaneously offered to take me to Princes Town where he and his family lived. So I went along and stayed for a couple of days. Joining a lesson at the local school I answered the children's questions about my home country. We went to an event with music and dance at the San Fernando General Hospital. Sagram's openness and hospitality made my stay in Trinidad a wonderful and most memorable experience. Though I'm sad that he has passed away I will always remember him dearly. Uncle Sagram!!! Brilliant, tender, loving, comic. You are doing wonderful now as you are with the Lord!!!! I love you. My heartfelt condolences are sent to Auntie Rookmin, Dianne, Danny, Darryl, David. I love you guys!!!!! May God give you strength, peace, and calm during this time. I will always treasure the rare times when I could hang out with Uncle Sagram. The crazy business trip to Tobago, the addiction to card games, the joy of just taking it easy at the house and talking about nothing major in particular. Passing the time that way with family is the heart of it all. We are heart broken over the grief you are enduring, but also thankful that he spent the winter of his life surrounded by remarkable people. That love, respect and compassion helped bring Uncle Sagram to a place where he would undoubtedly enter God's Kingdom. I hope this brings you some measure of peace when needed most.
