“With that Jacob ripped his garments apart and put sackcloth around his waist and mourned his son for many days. And all his sons and all his daughters kept trying to comfort him, but he kept refusing to take comfort, saying: “I will go down into the Grave mourning my son!” These words found at Genesis 37:34, 35 describe how many feel when they lose a loved one in death. Please accept my sympathy. It is okay to grieve. Grief can change to joy when we are reunited with our loved ones in what the Bible calls the resurrection (John 5:28, 29) Imagine a father has the power to raise people from the dead. He has children that he loves dearly. One day an earthquake kills his children. What will he do? Surly he will raise them from the dead. How much more so will the Almighty God Jehovah raise up the dead in harmony with his justice and love! Would you like to know more? To the family of Lynton Forde,
I offer my condolences on his passing. I happened to read his obituary and couldn't help think of the multitude of family members he once must have enjoyed company with. May time continue to be a healer as they say.
Something else that can be helpful is knowing that instances of persons coming back from the dead do exist. True, it doesn't happen in our day but did you know the Bible is replete with various resurrections. Perhaps you remember Lazarus?
“When Jesus saw her weeping and the Jews who had come with her weeping, he groaned within himself and became troubled. He said: “Where have you laid him?” They said to him: “Lord, come and see.” Jesus gave way to tears.” These words are found in the Bible at John 11:33-35. Imagine the Lord Jesus “gave way to tears”
At times like this a good long cry might be just the pain killer we need. Jesus also visited the home of the bereaved to provide comfort. Have you received comfort from friends and relatives, even strangers? More than that he brought Lazarus back to life. Will he perform miracles like this again in the future? Sure he will! If you had that power, would you not use it to help others? Certainly.
Feel free to contact us for more information or check the official website of Jehovah’s Witnesses at www.jw.org.
sincerely Headley
