Please accept my sympathy on the passing of your dearly beloved 'Rita'. I have lost loved ones in death but the hope that God has given us has helped me through and so if you will permit me I will like to share some of this comforting message of hope with you. When someone dies many say that God has taken that person! Others say they have gone to heaven or to hell! But what does God say happens when our loved ones die? He provides the answers to these questions and more in his word the Bible. Ezekiel 18:32 "'For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth', saith the Lord GOD: 'wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.'" This verse should comfort you to know that God did not take your loved one in death, death is not part of God's plan for humans. John 11:11,13,14 "Jesus added:'Lazarus our friend has fallen asleep, but I am travelling to awaken him.' Jesus, however, had spoken about his death. But they imagined he was speaking about resting in sleep. Then Jesus said to them plainly:'Lazarus has died.'" Noticed that Jesus did not say Lazarus went to heaven or that he was suffering, he said Lazarus was asleep, and he was going to awaken him. This along with many other records in the Bible of Jesus awakening persons who have died gives us a foregleam into what he can and will do in the future, where God promises there is going to be resurrection (Acts 24:15) Hope these words do bring you comfort.
