On the 31st August 2017, we the people of The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago will celebrate 55 years of independence. This historical event was achieved through an Act of Parliament known as the Trinidad and Tobago Independence Act 1962. The passing of this Act resulted in Trinidad and Tobago becoming an independent country in the West Indies, thereby achieving independence from the United Kingdom.
We take this opportunity to salute those who served our country in the post-independence era, such as our nation’s very first Prime Minister, The Rt Hon. Dr. Eric Eustace Williams and Dr. Rudranath Capildeo, the first opposition leader.
This beautiful twin island Republic has endured many changes since Independence, but we nevertheless persevere. The Management and Staff of J. E. Guide Funeral Home & Crematorium Limited would like to join hands in this celebration with our fellow brothers and sisters and renew our commitment to serving our communities, near and far.
The Rt Hon. Dr. Eric Eustace Williams

Dr. Rudranath Capildeo
